Skateboarding in New York City is like nothing else. It is impossible not to feel the magnitude of the landscape and people you are interacting with. The city is in constant motion, which can be exciting and often dangerous. There is no right or wrong way to navigate this arena, but one thing is certain. The skates and images of skating produced in this city are undeniably unique.

The High8 footage in this video dates back to 1996. This is a collection of footage that many people shot in and around Washington DC. Small parts of this footage were used for other skate videos and publication.
Jamel Robinson put this footage into my hands not too long ago so I thought I would make a video that served as a time capsule.
I put sometime color correcting, editing all of the footage. I used music that I could listen to and not grow tired. The music really shaped the video and edits.
